​The importance of the sensitivity of the slides

      •   Guideway manufacturers need to produce their products in a certain sensitivity. Processing tolerance of the machine in which these guideways are used, is determined by that sensitivity rates.
      •   The more sensitive guideways, the less processing tolerance. It is important to produce precisely. That is why customers who would like to buy a machine, tend to buy the one with the lowest processing tolerance.
      •   Tolerances of linear profiled guideways of INA are given below. Some parts, especially the edge support units, of the machine is needed to be protected in order to maintain that tolerance.
      •   Guideways that are produced with micrometer sensitivity particularly need to be protected to keep that tolerance.
      •   Uprotected guideways lose their sensitivity over time. Because the processing tolerances increase, the machine quality decreeses.
      •   Machine manufacturers generally use their own beaaring systems. To find the appropriate guideways in the market is quite hard and costs much.
      •   Therefore, it is necessary to protect the guideways.
 

How do they harm?

      •   Pollution in the work environment leads to deformation in the guideways.
      •   Deformation on the surface of the guideways and wear of the carriage wipers lead to pollution of the working surface of circulating bearings. This pollution may cause disintegration of the carrigage.
      •   Replacing the carriage may not always be the guaranteed solution, rails must also be replaced if necessary.
      •   This causes high maintenance costs.
